Why do most saloons in the old west have swinging doors?

To allow the swaying drunks an easy way to fall out of the door, not likely to pull the doors of its hinges. Also to stop arguments as to who would get in first, 2 men could crash though at once. These gave known gun slingers a flashy enterance while everyone in the bar took cover.
