I moved to Virginia and want to switch to a Virginia license but I have a motorcycle in Maryland?

The motorcycle is registered in Maryland and has Maryland tags. I am keeping it there in storage and plan on only driving it there. I now live in Virginia in the city and only walk or use the bus. Can I switch my license to Virginia without having any problems with leaving my motorcycle Maryland?
